In its first edition launched in May, a magazine dedicated to raise the “voice of the youth” appeared on the stands in an innovative style that marries classical Arabic expressions with colloquial terms typically used by young men and women in their social gatherings and outings, said The Jordan Times.
The 64-page “Sawa Sawa” magazine, which roughly means “all of us together,” questioned the myth that youngsters lack the sense of responsibility or the desire to bring about change in their society.
Dina Zorba, the magazine's editor-in-chief, was quoted by the daily as saying that the magazine targets people between the ages of 14-25 and contains “everything has to do with the young,
“The time is ripe to give the youth their share in the media.”
According to the first National Human Development Report 2000 that was released on Tuesday, a staggering 73 percent of the kingdom's five million population is under the age of 29 while youths aged 15-29 account for 34.4 percent of the populace – Albawaba.com
