BACK in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s Silvikrin was associated with everything that was ‘cool’.

A series of long playing records were released under the Silvikrin Presents label featuring popular artists of the day such as Connie Francis, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme and its advertising campaigns were considered classics.

Today Silvikrin original poster ads have become collectors items and along with the old records, are eagerly sought after on e-Bay.

Now the brand is back and making as much noise as it was all those decades ago and grabbing the attention of a new generation of young people.

The Silvikrin brand was re-launched in Dubai recently in typical style, with live radio broadcasts from Lamcy Plaza, sponsorship of the successful Dubai Rain Concert and the release of an eagerly sought-after limited edition CD featuring the artists who appeared in the concert.

“Silvikrin is about creating volume – primarily in women’s hair – but also volumes of excitement, entertainment and enjoyment. That’s exactly what we succeeded in creating,” said Zeena Tamimi, Silvikrin brand manager.

“Silvikrin products have a large consumer following in the Middle East and around the world, and this re-launch will benefit not only those who already use the product, but also new users, who are looking for hair-care products that are rich in ingredients derived from nature to help rejuvenate their hair and keep it fluffed up and free flowing,” she said

The shampoo range includes: Cactus, for dry damaged hair; Henna for normal to greasy hair; Egg for dry hair; Olive for dry hair; Coconut for coloured/permed hair, and Citrus, for oily hair.

The conditioner range includes Cactus, Henna, Egg and Coconut, while the Silvikrin 2-in-1 range includes: Kiwi/Apple, for normal hair; Mint and Kids, with fun tropical fruit flavours.

The entire Silvikrin range is available at supermarkets and pharmacies across the region.
