ALBAWABA - On Friday, Palestinian groups announced the creation of a temporary technocratic committee made up of independent people from the Gaza Strip. This committee will take over the administration of the territory and manage essential services. This is an important step toward putting the ceasefire agreement into action and stabilizing Gaza after the war.

After a meeting with representatives from Hamas, Fatah, and other groups, the groups released a joint statement saying that the decision was made because "there is a need for a unified national stance and vision to confront Israel's annexation and displacement policies."

The statement stressed that national unity is the "most important response" to what Israel is doing and called for concrete actions to strengthen internal cohesion and group decision-making in the Palestinian political system.

The agreement says that the new temporary committee of independent technocrats will work with Arab partners and international organizations to run the country on a daily basis and provide basic services. The groups stressed that this structure is meant to keep life in the Strip neutral, stable, and ongoing until a larger political framework can be reached.

The joint statement stressed the importance of keeping an independent national decision and the unity of the Palestinian political system. It also urged all sides to support measures that keep Gaza safe and stable.

The Role of the World and What Comes Next

The groups also asked the UN to pass a resolution that would allow the creation of an international monitoring force to keep an eye on the ceasefire.

They also suggested that all Palestinian forces and factions hold an urgent national meeting to come up with a unified national strategy and bring back the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

Many people think that the move is an attempt to strengthen internal unity and rebuild Gaza's government while also supporting international and regional efforts to keep the fragile ceasefire going and get ready for the territory's rebuilding.
