ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced, a day after approving the peace plan proposed by the United States, that the Israeli military would remain in most of Gaza.

On Monday evening, Netanyahu announced Israel's approval of Donald Trump's peace plan, which includes a permanent ceasefire and the release of all hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.

"We will recover all our hostages, alive and well, while the (Israeli military) will remain in most of the Gaza Strip," Netanyahu said in a video statement on Telegram.

In response, the Palestinian group, Hamas, revealed on Tuesday that it will discuss U.S. President's peace plan for Gaza within the group and with other Palestinian factions before responding.

On the other hand, the peace plan also includes Hamas' surrender and disarmament, the end to attacks, urgent entry of humanitarian aid for people and the promise of reconstruction in Gaza.
