The city of Meknes has recently hosted a Day of Study on trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), titled "Health and integration". The event was initiated and organized by the Faculty of Science at the University of Moulay Ismail and by the Moroccan Association of the trisomic 21 children.
The event was attended by a number of specialists and researchers of trisomy 21, including the president of the French Association for research on trisomy 21, who came to support the parents and families of children with trisomic 21.
<i>Aujourd'hui</i> reports that the objective of the event was to inform the parents of trisomic children, the biological, psychic and therapeutic aspects of trisomy, in order to enable them to understand better the behavior of their children and help them to open out and integrate better on the socio-economic level.
