The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, said on Wednesday that Israel should not “imagine” that it could invade Lebanon as it did in 1982.

Speaking at a ceremony to honor the Lebanese Units to Resist Israeli Occupation, an event held on the occasion of the first anniversary of the liberation of south Lebanon, Nasrallah urged constant readiness, warning that “the battle is still on,” according to the Daily Star.

A statement issued by the group’s information department said Nasrallah pledged that resistance would continue until all Israeli-occupied territory, including the Shabaa Farms, was liberated.

“Zionist escalation and threats make it imperative to remain active, as we are committed to protecting our country and defending our people,” Nasrallah said.
