The son of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday criticized American ambitions to export Western-style democracy to the region. "We reject these foreign ambitions to erase Arab identity in the framework of what they call the Greater Middle East initiative," said Gamal Mubarak, who heads the ruling National Democratic Party's political committee.
Mubarak, speaking at the opening of the NDP's annual conference said Egypt's reaction to the American policy would top the agenda of the three-day conference.
