Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday held the western media responsible for tainting image of Islam following the September 11 attacks on the US, Kuwait’s official news agency (KUNA) reported.
In a statement Mubarak made at a gathering on Al Qadr night occasion said, “the campaign of distortion negatively affected condition of the Arab and Muslim communities in west.”
“Some have hurriedly considered the Muslims and Arabs responsible for terrorism and claimed that Islam allows killing and destruction," Mubarak was quoted by KUNA as saying.
Egypt and other Arab states have condemned the phenomenon of terrorism, which contradicts Islam – Albawaba.com
