A Yemeni was killed and another wounded in a gunbattle Monday between Islamists and worshippers in a mosque south of the capital Sanaa, a Yemeni official said.
The clash occurred in Zamar, a town some 100 kilometers from Sanaa, after a row involving supporters of the Salafist fundamentalist movement over control of the mosque, the official said.
"Two Yemenis were wounded, but one of them died of his injuries," AFP cited him as saying.
He added that authorities made arrests and launched a manhunt for other suspects. (Albawaba.com)
