Morocco supports establishment of Arab Maghreb Union

Morocco considers that the establishment of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) is an "irreversible strategic choice", the chairman of the Moroccan party "National Rally of Independents" (RNI), has recently said, according to MAP

 

Ahmed Osman who was addressing a conference in Gammarth, outskirt of Tunis, as part of the symposium held Nov. 1-2, on the "Euro-Mediterranean space in the face of the European Union enlargement", said that in addition to historical, religious, cultural and geographical links, the regional integration of the Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania), remains an urgent need in order to set up a viable, solid, strong and harmonious grouping and face challenges of Globalization".
