The Spanish Minister of justice, Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar, arrived on Thursday in Morocco for an official visit. During his stay in the Kingdom, he is going to examine with his Moroccan counterpart, Mohamed Bouzoubaa, means for consolidating legal cooperation between the two countries.
The Spanish minister, together with his Moroccan peer, will also attend a presentation on a plan to modernize the Moroccan justice system, which was set up with Spanish assistance.
This plan, reports Bladi.Net, aims at improving the mechanisms of international legal cooperation, specifically between Morocco and Spain, but also with third parties. The suggested plan, which focuses on assisting disadvantaged groups in society (such as women suffering from violence at their home or minors without protection) will also include Spanish-Moroccan exchange program, aimed at training and informing justice practitioners in order to enable them to perform better their function on society.
