Morocco and Mauritania have agreed to form a joint commission at the premiership level to draw up framework of bilateral cooperation and implement protocols and executive programs, the Moroccan news agency (MNA) reported Friday.
It quoted a joint statement, issued by the two sides at the end of a two-day visit to Tangiers by the president of Mauritania Muawia Weld-Sedi as saying that the two states asserted necessity of coordination for service of interests of the two peoples.
The commission will be chaired by the two countries' prime ministers and will "define future actions" to boost bilateral relations in all fields, reported MNA.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the Moroccan king, Mohammed VI and his Mauritanian counterpart re-asserted their support for the Middle East peace process according to UN resolutions.
"They also affirmed necessity to remove obstacles hampering efforts to boost cooperation among Arab countries and encourage initiatives aimed at re-establishing Arab unity, reported SPA - (Agencies)
