Means to upgrade financial cooperation between Morocco and the European Investment Bank (BEI) topped talks held in Rabat Monday between Morocco's Economy Minister Fathallah Oualalou and BEI President, Philipe Maystadt, reported the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP).

Oualalou voiced satisfaction over the already existing cooperation ties and called on the European financial institution to participate in major projects in Morocco, especially in the realms of transportation, energy, new information technologies, water supply, education and health.

BEI extended financing worth 694 million Euros to Morocco in 2000.

The figure puts Morocco at the third rank of recipient countries of BEI financial backing, after Turkey and Egypt, said the agency - Albawaba.com
