Morocco’s Textile, Leather Exports Rise by 8.3 Percent

Moroccan exports of textile and leather goods in this year's first quarter reached some Dh9.8 billion ($89.09 million), jumping 8.3 percent compared to the same period of last year, Morocco’s official news agency (MAP) reported. 

Official figures show the increase was mainly noted in ready-to-wear garments, whose exports progressed by 7.8 percent, while hosiery items increased by 2.1 percent. 

Following this development, textile and leather goods' share of exports climbed by 3.2 points to stand at 37.4 percent, said a press release by the Moroccan exchange office – Albawaba.com
