Morocco’s stock market capitalization reached 114.8 billion DH ($13.7 billion) in 2000, registering a decline of 16.7 percent compared to the previous year, Morocco’s official news agency (MAP) reported.
The volume of transactions was worth 35.43 billion DH ($ 3.37 billion), recording a 61 percent drop compared to 1999, due to the slowing of the central market activity (51 percent) and the number of strategic operations conducted on the bloc market (67 percent).
Closing the year at 658.43 points the bourse general index (IGB) decreased by 15.27 percent compared to the same period of 1999, said the agency – Albawaba.com
