The Moroccan police forces have carried out recently a vast operation against Islamist prisoners in Moroccan jails. According to the "Annassir Association" (the prisoners' families organization) the operation, which was carried out in the framework of the Moroccan anti-terrorist law, was implemented in a number of prisons where Islamist detainees are incarcerated.
The operation started at the Outita 2 prison on Friday evening, at about 9 o'clock, continued to the civilian prison of Sale and ended on Saturday morning (5 o'clock) at the Kenitra central prison.
Aujourd'hui reports that the objectives of this operation were to confiscate all mobile phones from the prisoners (those were very useful, inter alia, in the prisoners' coordinated hunger strike, observed by at least 1,500 Islamist prisoners, since May 2) and to relocate, by force, some of the prisoners to other jails in Morocco.
