The ambassador of Portugal to Rabat, Mr. Jose Lameiras, honored the Moroccan historian Ahmed Boucharb with the badges of Officer of the Dom Henrique Infant Order. Boucharbwas given this honor following a decree by the Portuguese President, in appreciation of his research about Morocco-Portugal relations.
Le Matin reports that the decoration was given to Boucharb in the framework of an official ceremony, held in the ambassador's residence, in the presence of academicians, friends and journalists.
In his short speech, the Portuguese ambassador emphasized that relations between the two nations are exemplary and "without cloud" since the signature of the peace treaty between them some 230 years ago, following the evacuation of Mazagao (EI-Jadida).
