A group of 110 Moroccan and Algerian illegal immigrants in Spain have started a hunger strike in Cuenca, 250 kilometers south of Madrid, to support their claims for legal stay documents, reported the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP) on Monday.
They started the hunger strike on Friday, said the agency, attributing the action to the “indifference of the Spanish authorities.”
Supported by NGOs and the media, the protesters are also angry that the mayor of the locality of Las Pedroneras authorized ten days ago fascist and neo-Nazi groups to hold a protest movement demanding the expulsion of foreigners, said MAP - Albawaba.com
