Monkeys raid Algerian city

The inhabitants of the upper neighborhoods of Bejaia, in the region known as the " old city" have recently started to suffer from monkeys wandering about in the streets looking for food, reported the July 9 edition of Al-Khabar newspaper. The monkeys were used to live in the nearby national park and its surrounding forests but recently started to wander around in the streets, hoping the to get food. Residents reported that the monkeys are frequently jump on roofs and enter balconies in their search for food. The inhabitants called the authorities to interfere in order to stop this problem. For their part, the workers of the park said that the only way to stop the raids of the monkeys is by preventing residents from feeding the animals.
