ALBAWABA — Explosions were heard across Jerusalem on Saturday as Iran launched missiles toward Israel, triggering air raid sirens and activating defense systems across the country’s north.

According to reports from northern Israel, including Haifa and the Galilee region, multiple blasts were heard following alerts warning of incoming projectiles. Residents were instructed to seek shelter as early warning systems were deployed in wide areas.

The Israeli military confirmed it had identified missiles fired from Iran and stated that its air defense units were actively working to intercept the incoming threats. Officials said defensive systems were fully engaged to counter what they described as an Iranian missile attack.

Israel’s Home Front Command announced the activation of emergency protocols and issued public safety instructions for communities across northern districts.

The escalation follows earlier joint Israeli and U.S. strikes targeting locations inside Iran, according to reports. Israeli Channel 12 cited a senior government official as saying that the decision to strike Iran had been finalized during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington.

Authorities in Israel said they are closely monitoring developments amid concerns of further retaliation.

Meanwhile, Reuters quoted an Iranian official as saying that Tehran is preparing a response after Israel’s latest strikes, warning that any retaliation would be “devastating.”

The exchange marks a significant intensification of tensions between the two countries, raising fears of broader regional confrontation.
