Minor Quake Jolts Northern Iran, No Injuries

A minor quake, measuring 3.5 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale, shook regions in the northeastern Iranian city of Semnan Sunday night, reported the official Iranian News Agency (IRNA).  

The seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University said the tremor struck at 21:03 local time (16:33 GMT), 40 km southeast of Semnan. 

Geophysical experts recorded a 2.9 tremor some 30 km from the northern city of Sari in Mazandaran province.  

No reports have been received on any probable damage or casualties, said the agency – Albawaba.com
