About 95 percent of female prisoners in Saudi Arabia are expatriates, a Saudi official said on Wednesday.
The figures were announced by vice governor of Riyadh region, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, said the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Speaking to reporters following an inspection tour of the kingdom’s female prisons, al-Malaz and al-Hayer, Prince Sattam noted that all governmental sectors were cooperating in the administration of the prisons.
He praised the significant role being played by the private sector in this respect.
He said that the interior ministry is planning to implement an ambitious project for the expansion of the two prisons – Albawaba.com
