Microsoft will complete the move of its Gulf and eastern Mediterranean offices to the Dubai Internet City by October 7, said Bahram Mohazzebi, the office's general manager.

The Gulf and eastern Mediterranean office has been located elsewhere in Dubai for a decade.

It will include marketing and sales teams, technical support and consulting staff, Arabic software testing labs and administrative offices. More than 120 people will work there, he told the Gulf Daily News.

Mohazzebi said the move was to take advantage of the Dubai Internet City's high-quality infrastructure and the benefits of working near other information technology industry professionals.

He cited a privacy agreement with the city preventing him from revealing how much Microsoft spent on the building.

Dubai Internet City is a free trade zone developed by the government as a regional hub for information technology companies. Other major tenants include Oracle, Cannon and IBM – Albawaba.com
