Mercer Management Consulting, one of the world’s leading strategy and operations consultancies, has expanded its Middle East presence with the formation of a legal entity and permanent regional office located in Dubai Internet City (DIC), Dubai, UAE.

Mercer Consulting FZ-LLC has been advising Middle East clients across the telecommunications, energy, aviation, and transportation sectors for a number of years and recently had been consolidating its regional presence. Mercer’s acquisition of the Middle Eastern, Continental European, and South American operations of DiamondCluster International in August 2006 has enabled the firm to establish a larger, permanent regional foothold.

Commenting on Mercer’s presence in the Middle East, Mark Kadar, Mercer’s regional director said, “Consulting in the Middle East has traditionally followed a project-based approach, but lately, there has been a shift towards long-term strategic solutions and partnerships.

“Looking at our deeply entrenched relationships with leading businesses in the region, we had already decided to invest in a sustainable base. Mercer’s acquisition of DiamondCluster’s operations helped us build on an existing strong base and quickly ramp up our presence in the region. Our growing client portfolio with leaders from many industries, such as DP World, MTC, Al Futtaim, and others, signals the success of this strategy.”

Mercer’s work spans across a broad range of activities that impact the strategic positioning of businesses and help improve revenues and profitability. Milan Sallaba, a director and head of Mercer’s Dubai office, said the merger brought valuable intellectual capital to Mercer’s regional expertise.

“DiamondCluster’s reputation and acknowledged expertise in the telecom sector has helped add weight to Mercer’s existing competencies across energy, aviation, and transportation. The combined entity allows us to offer unrivalled intellectual capital from across the world to our clients in the Middle East,” said Sallaba.

“Mercer focuses on solving strategic and operational problems for clients. Be it launching and staffing of telecom start-ups, unlocking hidden value in business entities, increasing ROI, defining and implementing strategies for profitable growth, or any problem that has a direct impact on the positioning of the business, Mercer brings a wealth of experience and resources from our 26 offices across the world.”

Mercer’s Middle East presence now includes more than 60 consultants representing over 24 nationalities, bringing with them diverse backgrounds and experiences. Mercer’s office is currently in DIC, and the firm is in the process of moving to larger premises.
