Members of the new Syrian government headed by premier Mohammad Naji Otri took Saturday the constitutional oath before President Bashar al-Assad.
Later, Assad presided over the first meeting of the cabinet through which he congratulated its members, wishing them success in their missions.
According to SANA, he underlined the difficult circumstances facing Syria and the region as a whole, stressing that these difficulties should motivate the Syrian people to raise the level of their work and to act in line with their national duty.
Concerning the administrative reform, Assad stressed the need to combat corruption through clear work mechanisms.
Assad also stated that improving the standards of life and developing the industrial sectors which depend on local raw materials should be on the top of the new government’s missions.
