According to PETRA, deputizing for Prime Minister Adnan Badran, Minister of Culture Mahmoud Amin opened on Tuesday the Media and Current Events Conference, which is organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Yarmouk University (YU) and Al Ra'i Center for Study.
YU President Dr. Muhammad Sabarini delivered a speech in which he stressed that media has an active role in the lives of individuals and groups, pointing to some challenges facing media field in the Arab world. During the Three- day event, in which a number of specialists, academicians, and media figures representing Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the UAE are taking part, various working papers on many media- related fields will be discussed.
