Just a few footsteps away from the famous historic cathedral, Marriott International has announced the launch of the new Cologne Marriott Hotel. The hotel has 282 guest rooms and suites, as well as 12 conference and meeting spaces in different sizes. Furthermore, “Fou, the crazy brasserie” and the “Plüsch – Bar & Lounge” belong to the property. It is Marriott International’s first new opening with rooms featuring the Marriott Revive® beds. Situated near the main train station, tourists as well as business travelers will be attracted by the new hotel.

The building in the Johannisstrasse was a former municipal office. The building was completely renovated over the past years under the supervision of Lange & Luehrmann architects, Frankfurt. The elegant property is dedicated to be the future meeting point of tourists, business travelers and the citizens of Cologne. Interior Designer Keith Wright chose warm colors and modern forms as a key element of the interior. The design of the building around the circular courtyard provides many of the rooms with a unique layout.

All guest rooms were equipped with the new Marriott Revive® beds, including luxurious soft sheets, a selection of pillows and a plush mattress designed for relaxed sleep and wonderful dreams. Every room offers two internet ports and “sat-on-demand”, a choice of 400 international TV-channels. Spacious Suites are available, as well as nine Executive Studios. These are especially attractive for guests who plan longer stays at the hotel, featuring a large 645 square foot (60 square meters) floor plan. The absolute highlight of the property is the Dom Suite, where guests enjoy a spacious 1,130 square foot floor plan (105 square meters), a 322 square foot (30 square meter) terrace and a breathtaking view of Cologne’s historic cathedral. Guests who book a suite, studio or a Executive room have access to the Executive Lounge on the sixth floor which offers an exclusive and private working atmosphere and special services. Additionally, the new hotel is equipped with a business centre, health club with fitness room, as well as different saunas and tanning beds.

Guests dine in „Fou, the crazy brasserie“, the culinary highlight of the new Marriot Hotel (Fou = crazy). “We serve traditional French lunch and dinner dishes in an upscale casual and French atmosphere– just as you would expect it from a brasserie”, explains General Manager Wolfgang Gros. “But, surprising for our guests, our menu also includes some Asian specialties. The menu combination, coupled with our crazy chef de cuisine and of course our singing waiters will make a stay in our restaurant an event for every guest.” Should guests wish to enjoy an aperitif before dinner, a cold beer or stylish cocktail in the evening, the “Plüsch – Bar & Lounge” (Plüsch= plush) is the right place to be. Guests will find international dishes, both large and small on the menu of this colorful bar.

Business travelers and visitors who plan their trip to Cologne during springtime can benefit from the special opening rate of 139 Euros, including breakfast, unlimited internet access and 1.000 Marriott Reward Points per person. As an added special attraction: an accompanying guest can overnight in the room for free.
