The Department of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has carried out maintenance work on 30 mosques in Dubai during 2001, which also witnessed 15 more mosques coming under its supervision.
Mohammed Saeed bin Daar, Director of Mosques and Awqaf Affairs, told WAM: "Out of the total 30 mosques, 20 mosques were subjected to maintenance works by a contracting company with which the department had previously signed a contract. Work on the remaining 10 mosques was performed by the department's Maintenance Section." (Albawaba.com)
