Four new ministers were sworn in Thursday before Jordan's King Abdullah II in a limited reshuffle of Prime Minister Ali Abul-Ragheb's 27-member Cabinet.

The changes in portfolios including the economy, agriculture, health and education and research had been expected. Top portfolios such as foreign affairs and the interior were not involved, limiting any political impact.

King Abdullah had entrusted Abul-Ragheb's Cabinet to hold elections in September and push through economic development. But the king postponed the elections last month until sometime next spring.

According to AP, officials said privately the king was disappointed with the slow performance of some ministers, especially those holding top economic portfolios. (Albawaba.com)
