Debris believed to belong to a missing EgyptAir aircraft has been found in a search of the southern Mediterranean after the airplane vanished from radar screens Thursday morning, Reuters reported.
Greek officials said pieces of plastic were found in the sea about 230 miles south of Crete, and two life jackets, appearing to be from an aircraft, were also found.
The plane, carrying 69 passengers from Paris to Cairo, disappeared from radar screens just before entering Cairo airspace, swerving and plumetting some 22,000 feet before contact was lost with the pilot.
