Libyan-Nigerian talks

according to JANA, Libyan-Nigerian talks were held in Tripoli on Saturday in attendance of the secretary for cooperation affairs at the General People's Committee for Liaison and International Cooperation, the governor of the state of Kano in the Federal Republic of Nigeria , Ibrahim Shakarawa , The prince of the state, Dawoud Samir, representatives, experts from higher education, agricultural, animal, marine wealth, industry and the chamber of commerce, industry union, General Power Company and the accompanying delegation of the Governor of Kano, in addition to the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Great Jamhiriya.

The secretary of cooperation affairs welcomed at the opening of the meeting the governor of Kano and his accompanying .. He called upon businessmen and investors in the two countries to benefit from the decree issued by The General People's Committee which cancelled customs tariff on a number of goods to re-export these goods from the Great Jamahiriya to Nigeria.

On his part the governor of Kano affirmed that this visit was a great opportunity to promote cooperation relations in various fields specially in agriculture and trade .. He stressed his country's desire to benefit from Libyan expertise in education, electricity and agriculture and to obtain scholarships at Libyan universities.

During this meeting it was agreed to establish a joint-council for economic activities in order to promote cooperation and investment and to develop trade exchange.

It was also agreed to send Libyan delegations from educational, health and electricity sectors to study horizons of cooperation between Great Jamahiriya and Kano state in these fields.
