LG presents new entertainment option

Combining superb video and sound technology, global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has launched a range of DVD karaoke systems.

The LH-DK6540 DVD receiver has incredible karaoke functionalities and incorporates all the features of a top of the range home theatre system. It features five 60 watt satellite speakers, a 120W sub woofer and can play various audio formats like digital video express, MP3, windows media audio and all DVD formats. This is a global first since the DVD Forum established its two main complementary standards, DVD-R/RW and DVD-RAM. The system is loaded with 1500 copyright songs (1000 English and 500 Arabic songs), a songbook and a stylish microphone.

“Based on customer research and market surveys, we see a growing demand for sophisticated audio products in the region. The Middle East has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world; this will increase further due to the exponential growth that economies in the region are experiencing. Consumers in the region are receptive to new technology and we believe that a steep increase in disposable incomes will result in a larger in-flow into the regional consumer electronics market,” said C H Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

LG’s audio components notched up sales of US$ 85 million in the Middle East and Africa in 2004. By focusing on strategic links between home audio-video, car infotainment and mobile audio-video business, LG aims to rank among the top three global players in the digital display and media segment by 2007.

Sound enhancements like echo, fan fare, tempo, key control, score and chorus are also part of the system. Other features include easy song search, AM/FM Digital PLL Tuner, and DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby Prologic II surround sound. Up to 3000 songs can be stored on this machine that is armed with two microphones. Other karaoke systems launched in the region include the LFK 5931 and LH-T250.

“The product is targeted towards those consumers who enjoy singing. It’s also a great party machine for entertaining family and friends. By providing 1500 copyright songs, we are offering great add on value to the consumer. We believe this product will provide a new and exciting entertainment option to our customers in the GCC,” Lee added.
