Legends Dubailand, introduced a new concept to children with the introduction of the info-tainment area.  Children from twelve different schools, both Government and private were invited on November 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th to take part in a fun-fair day programme which involves both entertainment and functionality.

The first fun-fair day sponsored by Legends took place on November 1, 2006 between 9:00a.m to 12:00pm. A total of 100 boys, within the age range of 8-10 years from Al-Salam school, Al-Kholfaa Al Rashiddon School, Al- Aqsaa school, Belal Bin Rabah school and Zayed Bin Sultan school visited Legends premises along the Emirates road.

This event was organized by Legends Development Co.  (LDC), the company exclusively responsible for the development and promotion of Legends Dubailand.  The Dubai-based LDC has been mandated by Gulf Finance House (GFH) to oversee the development of the AED 14 billion project.

The info-tainment area at Legends Headquarters features a high tech Maze Game, which demonstrates how RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technology can be used all over a theme park or resort destination to track individuals using locators issued to each member of a family.   In addition to the info-tainment area, the event hosted several activities for the children, which included, acrylic painting, educational video quizzes, and a traditional story-teller who captivated and enthralled the children with the tales of Alf Lia wa Lila, Kalila wa Dummah and different children stories in both English and Arabic.

“We are thrilled to welcome children with the Legends’ Info-tainment area said Fauzia Al-Khanjari, General Manager of Legends Development Co. LLC who went on to say, “These fun-fairs for children will mark a strategic step in building awareness to our future theme parks.  The Legends project has been designed to reflect Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leisure and tourism hub, while simultaneously becoming one of the most innovative and exciting commercial opportunities in the region. “

Conceived as one of the largest destinations for entertainment and leisure tourism in the Middle East, the project will be staged over an eight year period with a unique collection of three world-class Theme Parks with corresponding themed hotels, 500 individual first class villas, residential apartments, business and a Commercial Park, plus a variety of leisure facilities all finished in rich Arabian architectural designs.

The three theme parks at Legends-Dubailand are Legends of Arabia, Legends of Nature and Legends of the World – all of which are inspired by the magic of mythology, natural wonders, and sensational places on the planet.  The Legends Leisure Complex is envisaged as a vibrant mixed destination for family entertainment complete with innovative retail concepts within a themed environment. Further the development will also feature four themed hotels, three of which will be based on Arabian, Carribean and Medivial concepts respectively. Apartment complexes will envelope this destination. “We are excited about the project and confident it will be a huge success,” says Al Khanjari, adding that it would “complement the other projects that are under way or being drawn up in Dubai to reach the goal of 15 million tourists by 2015”
