Lebanon's political crisis deepend Monday after Environment Minister Fares Boueiz resigned in protest of the constitutional amendment to keep President Lahoud in power for three more years. He was later joined by three other ministers from the faction of Druze leader Walid Jumblatt.

According to A Nahar website, Boueiz's resignation comes amid heavy speculation that Rafic Hariri's government will soon disintegrate. Later in the day, Jumblat has decided to pull out his three ministers - Economy and Trade Minister Marwan Hamadeh, Culture Minister Ghazi Aridi and Displaced Persons Minister Abdullah Farhat - from the cabinet.
