Former Lebanese Prime Minister, General Michel Aoun said his dispute with Syria is over and he would return to Lebanon within five weeks after Syria has set April 30 as the deadline for the last Syrian soldier to leave Lebanon.

In an interview with As Safir daily published Monday, Aoun did not rule out his potential bid to become president of Lebanon "if this is an inescapable last option."

"President Lahoud's fate must be decided by Lebanon's new parliament after the spring elections," Aoun said in the interview that was conducted at his house in Paris.

In 1990,  Aoun led a brief anti-Syria revolt, but was exiled to France following its end.
