Bahraini security forces have arrested at least three Bahrainis in pre-dawn raids Tuesday, on suspicion of links to the Al Qaeda network, their lawyer said.
The reasons for the arrests of Bassam al-Ali and brothers Yasser Abdullah Kamal and Omar Abdullah Kamal were "unclear", said lawyer Abdullah Hashim.
The lawyer added police also searched the home of Sheikh Mohammad Saleh and confiscated documents, books and computer disks, but that he had not been detained as at first thought.
The suspects are believed to follow the Sunni Salafi movement which is close to Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda.
Hashim said he received a call during the arrest operation. "I advised them to ask the police for the arrest and search warrant, but the call was cut off," he said.
"I don't think there is a reason to arrest them and I don't think they have any activities which call for an arrest." (Albawaba.com)
