At least five Palestinians were arrested by Israeli troops in two separate raids in the West Bank, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.
Witnesses told WAFA news agency that Israeli troops rolled into the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, and arrested Palestinians.
"Israeli undercover units, supported by Israeli troops, moved into the town, using civil vehicles," an eyewitness said. "They stormed several houses and arrested a number of citizens," he added.
The undercover units seized civilians' cars and deployed in the town, witnesses said.
Meanwhile, two Palestinian brothers were arrested by Israeli troops in the Aida refugee camp, located north of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources said.
The sources said that Israeli troops stormed the camp amid intensive fire and arrested Monjid, 18, and Majdi, 27, al-Dibis, and led them to an undisclosed place.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces wounded also Sunday a Palestinian civilian and stormed other cities in the occupied territories, sources said.
Sources in the northern Gaza Strip city of Beit Hanoun told the official news agency that Israeli soldiers opened heavy machine gunfire at civilians and their houses, wounding a civilian with a live bullet in his shoulder.
They added that Israeli forces, backed by tanks, armoured vehicles and U.S. made Apache helicopters, closed all the main entrances of the city and prevented civilians from moving in-outside, imposing a tight curfew.
According to Israeli media reports, Palestinian snipers opened fire on an armored Israeli military jeep near the Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis on Sunday, wounding a soldier in the neck.
The soldier, lightly wounded by shrapnel from the sniper fire, was evacuated under heavy Palestinian fire. He is under treatment in hospital.
In the meantime, witnesses said 13 Israeli tanks rolled into the eastern part of the Jabalia refugee camp and heavily shelled civilians’ houses, inflicting severe damages.
They added that Israeli tanks took a new position near the Zemmo juncture and shelled civilians' houses, completely destroyed a house and totally burned another.
In the West Bank, Palestinian security sources said that Israeli troops rumbled into Nablus City and seized a building owned by al-Serafy family, turning it into a military post, adding that the building overlooks Balata refugee camp of the City.
Also Sunday, Israeli troops seized three Palestinian houses in the West Bank city of Jenin, witnesses said. (Albawaba.com)
