Muscat - A panel at PEIE’s Smart Manufacturing Conference (15 – 16 April, Crowne Plaza Hotel) will lift the veil on the mysteries of going lean, which top manufacturers confirm is a proven diet for success.
The Organizational Challenges for Lean Manufacturing in 2007 and Beyond will provide a step by step guide for organisations to appreciate the simple principles involved, and the cost-saving benefits these could bring.
Speakers from companies that have tried and tested lean processes will be sharing their knowledge and experience, including Mr. Gopalan from Reem Batteries, Mr. Venkatesh, from the management consultants Savoir Faire Management Services and Ms. Safa Al Hashem of Kuwait-based Advantage Consulting .
Mr. Gopalan, CEO, Reem Batteries said: “Going ‘lean’ offers organisations a win-win solution to raising performance and reducing production costs - by cutting out the inflating factors that are a waste of time, money or resources.” “This proven technique has long been used in manufacturing and today many service sector organisations from construction to finance, and including the health service, are also recognising the benefits of lean – helping them to drive up efficiency and potentially to catch up with the manufacturing sector in terms of gross value added,” remarked Gopalan.
“Many companies pursuing Lean are surprised by how much difference it can make to their bottom-line performance by bringing in changes to the way they operate. This particular conference panel is an ideal opportunity for them to share the secrets of others’ success and put this knowledge to effective use in their own workplace,” remarked Ibtisam Al Faruji, PEIE’s Head of Marketing.
