Nokia unveiled new special editions of selected mobile devices that offer several varieties of Islamic applications. The offer, which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, reflects Nokia’s commitment to continuously provide its consumers with tailored services based on their need, taste and requirement. The portfolio of devices supporting the new Islamic applications are the Nokia 6131, Nokia 6233, Nokia 6070, Nokia E61, Nokia N73 and Nokia N80. The applications were developed by Egypt- based Asgatech, a Forum Nokia Pro Member. Asgatech was selected by Forum Nokia Pro and is considered to be one of the best Islamic applications companies in the Middle East.

Users in the region will also admire the Emsakya application. It involves the prayer times, Sohur [Pre-dawn Meal] and Breaking the Fast for the entire holy month of Ramadan. The application uses an intriguing method to calculate the last third part of the night in order to help Muslims to worship as they wish to. In addition to this, the application comes with a dual language user interface (Arabic/English) and a variety of Islamic graphics. It switches its language interface automatically after detecting the current selected Mobile interface Language.
The applications’ portfolio contains as well a valuable collection of Azkar for the morning and the evening with audible alarms. It has also a Tasbeeh counter instead of a normal Muslim bead.
The application of Muhammad Merits offers valuable information about the gracious prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and a voice recording for the prayer on the prophet Muhammad PBUH (Hanafy way). Furthermore, Islamic Organizer has an independent calendar that works on both Hijri and Gregorian systems. It displays important Islamic events, and includes a Qebla (Mecca) indicator in over 250 countries and cities throughout the world, and Sync abilities between the application and the device calendar and vice versa.
