The Kuwaiti Parliament's legislative and legal committee agreed on Tuesday to strip MP Mohammad al-Saqer of his immunity, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.
The decision was made at the request of Justice Minister Ahmad Baqer, said KUNA.
Saqer, former editor chief of the daily al-Qabas, was accused of allowing Ahmad al-Sarraf, a journalist, to criticize the judicial authority in one of his articles, said the agency.
The committee will refer its decision to the house to vote on it soon, said KUNA - Albawaba.com
