A Kuwaiti judicial delegation visited courts in Dubai recently and met with heads and directors of various departments. The Kuwaiti delegation wanted to exchange expertise with the Dubai courts and Dubai Judicial Council.

Abdullah Ali Al Essa, Head of the Kuwaiti Higher Judicial Council, told a press conference, "We consider our visit a very important and fruitful one because it gave us the chance to have a closer look at the sophisticated technology and new advancements of Dubai courts. When we get back to Kuwait we'll try to set in motion most of the things we saw such as the E-government, IT systems, programs and new advancements.

"Each and every Gulf or Arab person who comes and sees the advancements and sophisticated equipment at the Dubai courts will feel proud just as we did. I guess that these achievements have become an ideal system in the Gulf region and the Middle East. The major aspects that led to such improvements were determination, wise leadership and right opinion."

Expressing why courts in Kuwait are not so advanced, he explained, "We were planning for such improvements many years ago, but unfortunately the Iraqi invasion came to destroy all the efforts that were exerted.

"Imagine, the invaders used to destroy the computers and other equipment without even knowing what they were ruining.

"Hopefully, in the near future, E-government will be implemented in Kuwait. We will equip all the courts and the judicial council with new systems, programs, computers and sophisticated technologies", Gulf News reported. (Albawaba.com)
