Kuwait has deposited another $100 million at Lebanon’s Central Bank, bringing the emirate’s total deposits to $200 million, Bahrain Tribune reported Tuesday.

Bassam Othman, a representative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, was quoted by agencies as saying that the $100 million deposit had been agreed on during Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s visit to Kuwait in January.

According to the paper, Hariri also won a pledge from the Kuwaiti government to finance most of the $500 million Litani River project in south Lebanon. The Lebanese Prime Minister is in France to have key meetings with the World Bank and European Union – Albawaba.com
