Kuwait has received new European helicopters for “border security missions,” to fight illegal immigration and drug trafficking, senior officials said.

“Kuwait has received delivery of two EC-135 helicopters,” which are manufactured by the Paris-based Eurocopter, Gulf defense sources were quoted by the Middle East Newsline (MENL) as saying.

The sources said Kuwait sent pilots to Britain for training on the EC-135.

Kuwait's Interior Ministry will be responsible for the aircraft, the sources said – Albawaba.com
