Jordan's King Abdullah is scheduled to arrive in Russia late Tuesday for talks with President Vladimir Putin, reports said.
The war in Afghanistan, the situation in Central Asia and conditions in Russia will figure on the agenda of the Wednesday talks, as well as efforts to halt the exploitation of Islam by terrorist groups, a Russian diplomatic source told AFP.
He said the talks would also cover efforts to revive the Middle East peace process and military cooperation between Jordan and Russia.
Analysts have suggested that earlier moves by Amman to obtain weapons from Moscow were a signal to the US to step up its aid to Jordan.
