One of Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi's sons, Saadi, has been visiting Japan in an attempt to encourage Japanese investment in Libyan projects, reported BBC Online on Wednesday.
He was quoted as telling a news conference in Tokyo that Libya was planning infrastructure projects totaling $25 billion and would welcome hi-tech involvement from Japan.
Saadi Kadhafi, 27, said that Libya had yet to assess its relations with the United States under President Bush, but felt the relationship with the Clinton administration had been better.
Kadhafi was traveling in his capacity as head of the Libyan Football Association and deflected questions about whether such trips were part of preparations for the day when he might succeed his father.
Saadi’s elder brother, Seif El Islam, last a month played the key role in brokering a peace agreement between the government of the Philippines and the separatist Muslim MORO front. The accord was signed in Tripoli – Albawaba.com
