Junior World Championship in Marrakech

The Moroccan Royal Federation of athletics announced that about 2000 athletes and trainers, representing 164 countries, have already confirmed their participation in the fourth edition of the Junior World Championship, which will take place in Marrakech from July 13 to 17.

 

<i>Le Matin</i> reports that the largest delegation to take part in the event is the Russian one, with 65 athletes and trainers, followed by Spain with 60 persons, the United States 58 and South Africa with 57 team members. Among the other countries, which have already confirmed their participation are Japan (53 team members), Australia (45), Italy and Saudi Arabia (42), Poland (41), Canada and Great Britain (39), Slovיnie and New Zealand (36), China (34) and Brazil (31).

 

The event organizers expect that more than 170 countries will eventually take part in this event compared to 137 countries, which have taken part in first edition of this event in 1999.
