Jordan’s King Abdullah has postponed until Sunday his scheduled visit to Yemen, said a source at the kingdom's royal court.
The source told the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA) that the reasons for the delay were not “political,” adding the cause was related to arrangements between Amman and Sanaa.
The king was scheduled to arrive in Sanaa Saturday for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, said reports.
The talks were to focus on bilateral ties, regional and international developments, reported the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA).
Yemeni political sources told KUNA that the Jordanian monarch and President Saleh would “review the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Jordanian-Egyptian efforts to breathe life into the deadlocked Mideast peace process.”
The Jordanian monarch was to leave Sanaa Monday, heading for Germany where he was to hold talks with senior government officials as part of efforts to drum up support for the Jordanian-Egyptian initiative – Albawaba.com
