At a meeting in Amman on Tuesday, Jordan's King Abdullah urged former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to withdraw from all Palestinian territories.
Abdullah reportedly told Barak at the Amman meeting that "true peace between Israel and Palestinians necessitates Israel's withdrawal from the whole West Bank", according to United Press International.
He commended Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank, saying that the event "is an important turning point in the history of the Palestinian cause and should be succeeded with a full withdrawal from the West Bank."
Abdullah also stressed that the sole guarantee for stability and peace in the region rested on the creation of a viable independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian territories.
