According to PETRA, Jordan took part in the Conference of the Palestinian Refugees Affairs Supervisors that concluded its deliberations in Cairo on Saturday.

Director of the Palestinian Affairs Department Wajeh Azayzeh, who headed the Jordanian delegation to the four- day event, said that the conferees underlined a number of issues concerning developments in the Palestinian lands and means to support the steadfastness of the Palestinians under the Israeli aggression.

Participants also called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to protect the Aqsa Mosque and the other Islamic and Christian sites.

They also highlighted the conditions of the Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

During the Conference, Azayzeh presented a working paper in which he reviewed Jordan's efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II to support the Palestinian brethren. The paper also stressed Jordan's fixed stance towards the Palestinian issue.
