King Abdullah II of Jordan and Bahrain's King Hamad were meeting in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Wednesday to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, officials in Cairo said.
The Jordanian Monarch paid an unexpected visit to Sheikh Hamad, who has been in Sharm el-Sheikh for the past week, during which he met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, now back in Cairo.
In Amman, a court official said "the Jordanian and Bahraini monarchs will review the latest Palestinian developments as well as bilateral ties," but provided no further details, AFP reported.
King Hamad met with President Mubarak last Wednesday for talks on Israel's military escalation in the Palestinian occupied territories.
Mubarak was to return to Sharm el-Sheikh on Thursday following meetings in Cairo with European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana and US Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs William Burns, a source close to Mubarak said.
Abdullah is set to return to Jordan later Wednesday to link up anew with the Morrocan monarch, King Mohammed VI, who has been on an official visit there since Monday.
On Wednesday, Mohammed VI flew to Jordan's Red Sea town of Aqaba for a private stay. (Albawaba.com)
